This past winter Matt’s aunt Cindy was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. On Mother’s day Cindy left her earthly body and is now present with the Lord. During the service held in remembrance of Cindy the Pastor’s words stuck with me, “This mother’s day Cindy received the greatest gift she could have been given…” She is now with Jesus, fully beholding his glory and made wholly perfect in Him. We mourn with hope because of the assurance we have of Cindy’s salvation. It was great encouragement to spend the weekend with the Bonner/Klockenga family, the faith many of them have expressed, to see her husband Mark and his hope in Christ to persevere him through the hard times ahead. There have been and will continue to be many tears as we remember Cindy, it is stirring to my heart to reflect on all the people Cindy’s life has touched, what a light and witness to Christ her quiet servant hood has been!
We are praying that all of us would run to the LORD in suffering,
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” Proverb 18:10
