Helen Ingram

On Thursday we received news that Matt’s Grandma Ingram was recently moved to hospice care and was given an estimated two-weeks. That night Matt left her a voicemail that he thought might be his last words with her before heaven. We prayed for Grandma Ingram before we went to bed last night, that the Lord be over her and grant her and our family peace during this extremely difficult time. Early this morning the phone rang, she has gone to be with the Lord. She is at peace. Please pray for our family, we rejoice that she will never suffer again, though we remain here with a gap. She had been married 57 years to her husband; pray for Grandpa Ingram and the rest of our family. We will be traveling up to the Chicago area later this coming week for the funeral. We appreciate all of your prayers.

Matt’s Reflection:

Grandma Ingram is now with Christ her Lord and Savior. This brings me great comfort. Even during these last years as her body and mind became weak, her savior’s didn’t. This stood as a reminder to me that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone not by works of the flesh. Though our minds will fail us, Christ will not. He knows our frame that we are but dust. We can put our hope in Him. He is a sure foundation and refuge for our salvation.

I shared these two verses with Grandma in my voicemail:

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6

I love her very much and look forward to the day when we will sing together before the throne.
