Recently I read through a re-affirming book named Planting Churches Cross Culturally by David Hesselgrave. In this book David lays out phases that are faithful to Jesus' commandment to make disciples and to Paul's missionary example. This model is one we plan to integrate into our own church plants.
The Main phases are:
1. Missionaries commissioned
2. Audience contacted
3. Gospel communicated
4. Hearers converted
5. Believers congregated
6. Faith confirmed
7. Leaders consecrated
8. Believers commended
9. Relationship continued
I would recommend this book to all full time pastors and laymen serving in church leadership.
