Shai Linne Concert Outreach

On Sunday Shai Linne & his wife Blair performed at an alternative High School for a group of about 50 troubled teenagers. The following is a letter from our friend's Ron & Jen whom set up the concert,

"It is really hard to describe how amazing Sunday afternoon was at my school, but I will try. ... The event started with two testimonies- Leon and Ashley. Leon shared about his life growing up in Chicago and how his depravity led him to a place of complete surrender to Christ, while Ashley shared about her past profession of atheism and dependance upon drugs and alcohol, and how her junior year at NIU she met the real Jesus and her life was transformed. Many of the girls related a lot with their stories and were very encouraged.

Shai and Blair Linne were introduced after the testimonies. They came up together and told the story about how they met and how their passion for Christ is the reason why the ended up together.
It was awesome to see how Shai respected and loved Blair in his words as well as his actions, something these girls have rarely seen. ... Shai and Blair worked amazingly together for the whole concert- Blair passionately speaking her poetry with boldness and compassion, and Shai singing his heart out with amazing song choices that met these girls right where they were at with the truth they so desperately needed.
... In between songs and spoken word, Blair and Shai clarified the gospel even more with personal testimonies and verses from scripture.
I have been teaching these girls for 10 months and I have never seen them as engaged as they were at the concert! The entire time I was so humbled and thankful for all the prayer that was poured into this by our church as well as the financial support that allowed this to happen.
Shai wrapped up the concert with a short message on Isaiah 45:22 which says, "Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other." Shai unpacked this verse for the girls and they were still really attentive. After Shai prayed the girls insisted on having a time for some question and answer. Shai graciously welcomed it and many hands went up. We were all blown away by the questions and how awesome they were, and the Spirit really worked in Shai and Blair to answer them.
One question a girl named Kate asked was, "what advice would you give a person that wants to come to God, but is scared of the commitment?" Shai pointed her towards surrendering to Christ in prayer and reading the word to help with her fear.
The girls ... were eager to buy his CD's. ...The fact that these girls are now going to be listening to the true gospel in music rather than meaningless and ungodly artists is so exciting! On top of all these girls hearing the gospel clearly proclaimed, several staff were exposed to the same truths ... After everyone left we gathered and prayed as a group and glorified the Lord for what He did. There were many tears through the night and during that time in prayer as we saw the mercy and grace of God extended to the lowly and outcasts.

Please continue to pray for these girls that God would give the growth for the seeds that were planted Sunday night. Continue to thank Him for what He did through Shai, Blair, and others. Pray for protection and boldness for me as I continue to share the gospel with these girls every day at work. Pray that more people would be encouraged from our church to take the gospel to their jobs and neighborhoods. Pray for Shai and Blair in their continued ministry together that they would always depend upon the Spirit and faithfully use what God has given them. Most importantly, praise God for who He is and that He is worthy of all glory.

Thank you so much,

Ron & Jen Keres"
